Security & Trust — Built for New Zealand Government Requirements | Conflict IQ
Security & trust

The most sensitive data in government, handled accordingly.

Conflict IQ holds disclosure and relationship data on the people who run public organisations. Every design decision starts from that responsibility.

01 · The essentials

Architecture & data handling.

Data residencyHosted in New Zealand, aligned to public-sector data-residency expectations. Your data does not leave the jurisdiction without your explicit instruction.
Row-level securityEvery record access is scoped to role and span of control. A 1-up manager sees their directs; a board chair sees board-level assurance — never more than their mandate.
Append-only audit logA tamper-evident history of every action and decision. Records can be added but never silently altered or deleted — the property an audit committee and the Auditor-General require.
EncryptionEncrypted in transit and at rest, with key management separated from application access.
Privacy & consentBuilt to the Privacy Act 2020: purpose-limited collection, explicit consent flows, and configurable retention (default seven years for audit integrity).
Read-only assurance accessBoards, CEOs and external auditors receive scoped, read-only views — visibility without the ability to alter the record they’re relying on.
02 · Built for the rising bar

Designed for where the requirements are heading.

The compliance standard is moving from voluntary to expected. Conflict IQ is built to meet it before it arrives.

Public Service Act 2020 — proposed amendments

Mandatory misconduct reporting

The Anti-Corruption Taskforce notes proposed amendments to require mandatory notification and reporting of misconduct investigations. Conflict IQ’s append-only record is built for exactly this duty.

Control-framework alignment

Prevention & detection controls

Conflict IQ maps to the prevention/detection control language drawn from the Australian Standard on Fraud and Corruption Control used in the NZ pilot — so it slots into the framework your assurance team already speaks.
